Bristol is a city located in Hartford County, Connecticut, USA, 20 miles southwest of Hartford. Bristol is primarily known as the home of ESPN, whose central studios are in the city. Bristol was also known as a clock-making city in the 1800s, and still boasts the American Clock and Watch Museum. Bristol's nicknames include the Bell City, because of a history manufacturing innovative spring-driven doorbells, and the Mum City because it was once a leader in chrysanthemum production and still holds an annual "Mum Festival".

Forestville is approximately the southeastern quarter of Bristol and was once Native American hunting grounds up until the 1800's, now it is mostly suburbs, Edgeville (Edgewood/Polkville) is another section in the north of Bristol. Bristol is also the eleventh most populated city in Connecticut it is also the most populated city in Connecticut without a highway, although route 72 being extended into Bristol from Plainville is supposedly in the works. The city is also home to Lake Compounce, the oldest continuously operated amusement park in North America which has a very interesting history, and to the New England Carousel Museum, the American Clock and Watch Museum and the Imagine Nation Children's Museum. The name of the local daily newspaper is the Bristol Press. It is also home to The Tattoo teen newspaper, one of the first online newspapers.
